Audio-Technica has released in Japan a couple of new headphones called the ATH-EQ600 and ATH-EQ700. These clip-on headphones are 14.5mm thick and house 30mm driver units. Both models are similar excepted that the ATH-EQ700 has a retractable cord to save time and space. They're available in a choice of six colors for a price of $30 the ATH-EQ700 and $25 for the ATH-EQ600.

The SE-DHP3000 headphones are the first from Pioneer to use the 2.4GHz transmission band. Capable of operating within a range of up to 30 meters in opposition to less than 10 meters for infrared transmission, the SE-DHP3000 is also lightweight with its 350g (Battery included). The base station/charger (SE-DRS3000C) doubles as a Dolby Pro Logic II and Dolby Headphone D/A converter with two optical digital inputs including one pass-through, one coaxial digital input and one analog audio input (RCA).

They are planned for Mid-May in Japan for roughly $390.

AKG introduced four models in Japan in the new product range called "High Definition", the K142HD ($199), K242HD ($239) semi-open studio headphones and the K172HD ($229), K272HD ($239) closed-back DJ headphones with rotatable ear cup for one-ear monitoring. All models can handle 200mW of power and employ large driver units with ultra-soft velvet earpads.

JVC will introduce this month a new high-end model to its line of Bi-METAL in-ear canal headphones. The Creative EP-830 earphones finally hit Europe, after being available for a few days in Singapore. The EP-830 is an upgraded model of the EP-630 with slightly improved specs. Audio Technica has released new ATH-C100M headphones. Adopting a minimalist design these headphones feature 13.5mm driver units and weight only 5g. Available in an array of colors including black, blue, light blue, khaki, pink, red, white, there is also a special model called "crazy" which has several flashy colors. They will retail in Japan for about $15.
