Altec Lansing Updates iM500 Speakers to fit iPod Nano

Altec lansing's iM500 gets an update to fit the new iPod Nano. This model is lightweight and super-thin by using flat full-range drivers, it measures just 1.2x 21.5x 1.8cm when folded and weighs 340g. The inMotion iM500 charges and syncs the iPod Nano, and there is an auxiliary input for connecting other devices such as a CD/MP3 players or other iPods. Also, it can be powered by either AC mains or six AAA batteries, providing up to 8 hours of continuous play.

Price raised to £80 for this new edition and it comes with a protective carrying pouch.

Logitech Pure-Fi Express Portable Speakers for iPod

Logitech released the Pure-Fi Express (PF-400) which replaces the AS-50EX. The Pure-Fi Express is a portable speakers for iPod (all models except iPhone), it includes a pair of 2.5" Max-X high-excursion drivers powered by either an AC adapter (100-240 V) or 6x AA batteries. Also the dock has the ability to charge your iPod while you listen and it features a custom EQ, video output (composite), auxiliary input jack and a remote control.

It retails for €79 and carries a 2-year warranty.

Scandyna Launches Two iPod Dock with Built-in Class-T Amplifier

Scandyna has recently released a pair of iPod Dock equipped with built-in amplifier. The $219 Dock and $249 V Dock systems for iPod look like standard unpowered docks housed in a compact unit, but unlike these docks Scandyna incorporated an high-efficiency 2x 15-watt Class-T amplifier (Tripath TA2024 chip), and added a video output at the V Dock.

Both docks are available in white or black and come with remote, separate output for a powered subwoofer, and 3.5mm aux input for other-brand MP3 players.

Canton DSS 303 Digital Sound Station for iPod

Canton has introduced the DSS 303 a desktop audio system designed specifically for Apple's iPod. It includes an integrated iPod dock and charger, FM/AM radio, clock with sleep and wake-up alarm functions, 50-watts stereo amplifier, and auxiliary input for a complete desktop audio solution for the bedroom, dorm room, or office.

The DSS 303 employs designed and manufactured loudspeakers by Canton, including 4-inch aluminum cone woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter mounted on-axis with the woofer for optimal transparency and imaging. It carries Apple's certification, and comes with a a credit-card sized remote and seven different adapters for nearly every iPod made that includes a docking connection as well as other digital audio players via the 3.5mm line-in connection.

The Canton DSS 303 has a suggested retail price of $499 and is available in high gloss white or black finish.

The iTube 452 achieves this superior performance and natural warmth through the employment of premium grade circuitry and genuine thermionic valves coupled with innovative design and meticulous engineering.

The iTube 452 with Valve Dock will retail next month for about $3000 and comes with full function remote control.

Yamaha released an interesting Bluetooth dock, the YBA-10. This wireless audio receiver that lets you connect to your compatible Yamaha's receiver, supports A2DP audio streaming within a range of 10m from any Bluetooth device such as mobile phones, MP3 players, computers, etc. No word on pricing or availability at this time.

Yamaha TSX-100 Desktop Audio System includes iPod Dock

Yamaha announced its new product made for iPod, the TSX-100 is a "all-in-one" desktop stereo system. It features an FM/AM tuner, a CD player compatible CDs, MP3-CDs and WMA-CDs, an iPod dock with the ability to listen charge your iPod, and view song titles on the front panel display which also double as a timer and clock functions. In addition, the TSX-100 system is able to play other MP3 players than iPod by a 3.5mm mini jack input. The Yamaha TSX-100 delivers 2x 10W of output power and both speakers has the Yamaha's SR-Bass technology that enhances the sound.

The TSX-100 will be available in black or silver color, it will cost about $500 and will hit the Japanese stores in late February.

Altec Lansing debuts the T612, a digital audio system made for the iPhone and new iPod family of products. The T612 provides brilliant sound for music and multimedia, while also featuring iPhone incoming call support. If a call comes in while music is playing, the iPhone gives priority to the call by pausing the music.

Designed after the successful M602 digital audio player, the T612 features powerful neodymium speakers and XdB bass-enhancement technology for exceptionally audio reproduction. The T612 play and charge all iPhone and new-generation iPod models. In addition, the rear of the T612 provides a standard auxiliary-in jack for connection to older iPod models as well as other audio devices and it comes equipped with a wireless remote for iPod navigation functionalities.

Available in February 2008, the Altec Lansing T612 audio system will be sold for $199.95 (U.S. MSRP).

CES 2008 - JVC NX-PN7 Dual iPod Dock

Announced in Las Vegas the new NX-PN7 from JVC can play and charge two iPod players at the same time. The NX-PN7 can hold two players side-by-side, charging them simultaneously and offering playback from each through the dock's speaker system.

The JVC NX-PN7 features sleek and sophisticated styling, with a black cabinet and speaker grille, and controls arrayed clearly and logically in a band along the bottom. Two illuminated strips, one under each docked iPod can display one of nine colors - including white, blue, red and others. The wireless remote features dedicated iPod control keys that simulate the iPod control wheel layout and users are able to easily shuffle, repeat, scroll and select songs from the iPod menu.

In addition this docking station has an AM/FM tuner, versatile clock and timer, and an analog audio input for connecting other devices for playback. It should be available in april with a $149.95 pricetag.

Polk Audio Introduces I-Sonic Entertainment System 2

Polk Audio announced the introduction of the I-Sonic Entertainment System 2 one year after the critically acclaimed I-Sonic Entertainment System. This new stereo system features the four-speaker acoustic technologies as its predecessor which delivers a 360-degrees sound. The I-Sonic ES2 includes a second generation HD Radio tuner with full multicasting and 24 presets. It accepts all iPod models and is equipped with S-Video and composite video outputs allow the user to connect a television or video monitor to the I-Sonic ES2 for viewing video content.

The I-Sonic ES2 is also a full function dual-alarm clock that can use the radio or iPod as the alarm. It measures 14.5"x 9"x 4.75", has auxiliary input, comes with a wireless remote control and it should be available this month at $499.
