McIntosh introduces first-ever Turntable - MT10

McIntosh introduces its first-ever producted turntable, called MT10. This luxury model priced at $8000 still features the typical design from McIntosh with its black front panel and its blue analog VU-meter.

With a massive black tone arm and cartridge custom-made by McIntosh, a copper edged cabinet and an oversized chrome plated tuning knobs, the MT10 harkens back to the classic days of vinyl, adding a hint of modernity and elegance to sheer high-fidelity excellence. A light green tinted platter that glows while in use compatible with 33, 45 and 78RPM disc is balanced to perfection, providing the ultimate in sonic fidelity and sensitivity. In addition a fully regulated power supply ensures ample regulated power at all times for constant speed rotation.

Accustic Arts TUBE-DAC II - Hybrid DAC with Tube Pre-Amplifier

This new Digital/Analog-Converter TUBE-DAC II has been engineered by Accustic Arts' labs, the TUBE-DAC II is an hybrid concept featuring a tube pre-amplifier system. This concept combines the advantages of the solid state technology with the advantages of the tube principle, however without the specific disadvantages of tubes.

The DAC employs a special and unique 2x 32-Bit technology with simultaneous digital signal processing, separately for left and right channel and an high precision crystal oscillator. After conversion the analog signal processing is based on the tube-hybrid concept. In this concept the tube is used only where it makes sense physically and soundwise, which is the second stage of our analog filter stage, a so called "GIC filter". Then the impedance conversion stage operates with ten pieces of the world-wide renowned Burr Brown amplification chip OPA627.

The TUBE-DAC II provides 3x digital inputs, 2x digital outputs and balanced XLR-outputs as well as unbalanced RCA outputs.

Cambridge Audio has officially announced its TT50 Turntable

Cambridge Audio has officially announced its TT50 Turntable

British manufacturer Cambridge Audio, will introduce this month it's new TT50 turntable. The TT50 was designed in conjunction with turntable specialist Pro-ject, that explains the similar design with some Pro-ject's turntable, however Cambridge Audio claims it's more than a simple re-badging, they added some modifications inside.

The TT50 was developed at Cambridge Audio's research and development headquarters, it results on a minimalist design based on a MDF chassis with a high gloss finish and an elastomer-coated acrylic platter. The proprietary arm and head shell are cast as one piece of aluminium fitted with an Audio Technica AT95E moving magnet cartridge. The turntable makes use of high-quality gold phono/RCA connections for the best possible signal transfer and is compatible with 33 and 45rpm by moving manually the drive belt between two pulleys.

The Droplet LP3.1 turntable is designed to offer most of the Liu+ST100 combo's qualities in a cheaper, smaller and more pleasing entry-level compact package.

The turntable inherited the precision stainless steel bearing, German AC motor drive system from Droplet LP5.0 turntable, and one-piece machined black acrylic platter from Liu, only fitted with smaller Droplet shape Multilayer sub chassis. The whole system sits on 3 stainless steel adjustable balancing feet to ensure the deck is precisely level. As for the tonearm, it uses a multi-pivot static balance system made up of stainless steel and carbon fiber.

Consonnance's Droplet LP3.1 should be available soon, however, there is no word on pricing yet.

Teac is going to introduce another version of its GF-650 turntable which doubles as a CD recorder. But until recently, only EP and LP discs were supported, now Teac is proud to announce that their new LP-R400 turntable will support EP, LP, and SP 78rpm discs.

The LP-R400 features a CD-R/RW player/recorder, an FM/AM radio, stereo speakers and it includes a remote control. The amplifier output is 3.5 W x2ch, and frequency response is 60 Hz - 20kHz. The product Dimensions are 470x360x236mm and weight is approximately 8.5kg.

Pioneer recently announced the F-F3, a standalone FM/AM radio tuner that will hit the market in late November at a price of 45,000 Yen (approx. $400 USD).

This radio tuner uses high-quality components such as "Schottky Diode" with a better time response than normal diodes and a separated ground for digital and analog circuits for less interference. Also the Pioneer F-F3 features an aluminium case, 100 station presets, a remote control and 2 antennas.
